Process Servers Re-Equipped for Service

The Human Resource Department of the Judiciary on Tuesday February 27, 2024 carried out a one-day refresher training for Process Servers at the Judicial Training Institute (JTI) grounds in Nakawa to rejuvenate their knowledge, and skills and improve service delivery in the Judiciary.

The Commissioner of Human Resources, Ms Apophia N Tumwine urged the Process Servers on how to grow in their careers. "I am glad that you all appreciate the promotions, this shows you that the opportunities are there, but it takes vigilance for one to grab these opportunities. Please go back to school and acquire skills however, this should not interfere with your work. You are public servants, put public interests over individual interests. We give opportunities to internal people first, before we advertise to the external environment," she said.

She also emphasize dvalues such as impartiality, transparency, accountability, equality, discipline, honesty, professionalism and hard work. 

The Commissioner Human Resource urged them to adhere to the expected proper dress code as prescribed by the Public Service guidelines and acceptance of deployments anywhere in the country.

Of the topics discussed were; The mandate, structure and composition of the Judiciary, Transition of staff members from mainstream Public Service onto the Judiciary Service, Overview of the terms and conditions of service, Performance Appraisal, Communication in service, Ethical conduct and customer care, Swearing Affidavits, and Participants Experience Sharing.

The facilitators of the day were; Mr. Ronnie Mbabali, Program Officer Civil Service College and Ms. Charlotte Kigozi, the Learning and Development Specialist at MTN Uganda. 

Present at the training were Ms Sarah Abaru, Senior Human Resource Officer and Ms Atuhaire Brendah, a Human Resource Officer.

The Principal Records Officer, Mr. Jacob Gwom moderated the training.
